Back To School
Well, it's back to school time! I did a pre-school at home with Bryce and Mackenzie last year. Mackenzie was soooooooooo excited to turn 5 and go to Kindergarten this year, but alas, the school system here in our county just DOES NOT measure up to my expectations so we are homeschooling again this year. Mackenzie told me, "But mom, I need to go to school. There are lots of boys and girls there to meet and I need to make friends there." She is such a social girl and LOVES to be around other boys and girls her age - most especially other little girls :) Being a teacher though, and knowing what I know about the schools here, I just felt so strongly that I should homeschool her this year. So, we started school the beginning of August. We're in our 3rd week of school and it's been quite an adventure already! I've been wading through different curriculums (and adapting them and changing them all around) and trying to get Sydney to wake up just a little later in the morning (I would prefer 6:30 or even 7:00 but she's an early bird like her sister). It's been a challenge to balance Sydney (who is 14 months old and walking around and getting into everything), Bryce (who is VERY energetic and wants my attention during schooltime) and Mackenzie. I can usually interest Bryce in some schooltime activities on his level. This sure has me feeling like I'm in a circus!! We're doing good though and Mackenzie is just sooooooooooo smart!! She learns so quickly and loves schooltime (most of the time). We really did alot in preschool last year so she's ahead of the game in all of the curriculum I have. So, we're adapting and speeding things up for her. I guess she'll be in first grade by January. That's the beauty of homeschool though. I can adapt the learning to be just what Mackenzie needs! Wish us luck for the rest of the school year!!

Happy Birthday to Brooke!
Today is my birthday, and what a great birthday it has been! My birthday celebrations began last weekend with a visit from my favorite sister, Katelyn (who also happens to be my only sister :), who tooke care of my 3 little ones so Cameron and I could go on a date together. Katelyn said the kids did fine (I was a little worried about Sydney) and they always love having their Aunt Katelyn to play with! Then, the next day, Katelyn watched the kids again so Cameron and I could go shopping for bunk beds for Bryce and Kenzie. What a busy Saturday! It took Cameron 4 hours to put that bed together and it looks great!
Cameron cooked breakfast for us this morning (eggs, grits, ham and cinammon rolls - yummy!) He also bought white roses and a cute card. The kids gave me Josh Groban cds and so we've been listening to his heavenly voice today (in 3 different languages :)
I got lots of b-day messages from my friends and family and a few phone calls! Thanks everyone!!

The Cowart Family Blog - First Entry
So... here we are. Finally catching up with the rest of the "blogging world" :). I've read so many interesting, funny, and just plain great family blogs lately and I love catching up with friends and knowing what is going on with them. I also have decided that this is a good way for me to "keep a journal" since I'm not so great at sitting down and writing in one every night. A family record is a special treasure - so even though I hope many of our friends will check out our blog from time to time and see what the Crazy Cowarts are up to, this is really more for us. I don't know a lot about blogging yet, but I'm hoping I can print out all of the posts and put them in a journal - I guess I'll know soon enough if that's possible :)
Well, it might take me a while to get this up and running smoothly and looking good. I don't get much computer time :) The children do a great job of keeping me very busy! In fact, as I'm typing, I hear Bryce upstairs getting into mischief when he's supposed to be taking a nap.
Hope that anyone who reads our blogs will leave comments from time to time to let us know you're there :) We hope you'll share your blogs and family updates with us!
